This past Saturday, the 11th of April, I was lucky enough to attend a Bloggers Social Night at Skoobs, Theater of Books in Johannesburg. Lauren from Violin in a Void joined me, and together we had a great night! Bloggers Social Night was organized by Monique from @UrbanisedGeek, sponsored by PanMacmillianSA and Skoobs, as well as hosted at Skoobs. Skoobs is a very unique book shop and whenever I walk in there I have to try and not buy everything in sight!
To start things off, we received great book bags, full of books and swag! Each of them also had a chocolate in them, from the author Romy Sommer!
We also had an opportunity to drink some wine and champagne while socializing with fellow bloggers and authors!
The panel was fascinating and was run by Lood du Plessis. The panel consisted of: Joanne Macgregor, Carlyle Labuschagne, Philani Dladla of The Pavement Bookworm and Fiona Snyckers. There was discussion about social media, branding your blog and getting the younger generation to read!
Skoobs was packed full or readers, bloggers and aspiring authors! And I am proud to say I met quite a few interesting people!
There were also spot prizes handed out for answering questions, tweeting and a lucky draw!
Overall this was a night I am happy I did not miss! New friends made, new books bought and received and I was definitely left feeling more inspired about blogging!
