Four days into a five day singles cruise on the Gulf of Mexico, the ageing ship Beautiful Dreamer stops dead in the water. With no electricity and no cellular signals, the passengers and crew have no way to call for help. But everyone is certain that rescue teams will come looking for them soon. All they have to do is wait. That is, until the toilets stop working and the food begins to run out. When the body of a woman is discovered in her cabin the passengers start to panic. There’s a murderer on board the Beautiful Dreamer… and maybe something worse.” – Goodreads

My Thoughts:

First let me say, what a creepy book! I found that I enjoyed it much more than book 1, and I also think it gave some answers that I felt lacking in Book 1. Or maybe it was the two together that helped! Either way, the setting in this book is very restricted, taking place on a cruise-liner, which I find quite refreshing to be honest! The cruise-liner gets into a bit of a predicament when a small fire cuts communication and movement. So everyone on the boat is stuck – and having a whole bunch of people in a cramped space is never a good idea! Soon things start to unravel as strange things start to happen.

The creep factor lay in the fact that you don’t know what is happening + a creepy cruise ship and the way it is described. And lets just say a few other things… There were also various story-lines that kept the pages turning. I didn’t particularity have a favorite character, I sort of just went with it, and didn’t really root for anyone in particular. Strangely this book left me with empathy for each and every cruise-liner worker out there! I can just image the hell they are put through, and I think this book highlights a lot of it nicely.

This is a very unique series that has not disappointed me and I doubt it ever will. And can I just say: that ending! I really liked it. It was very mind-fuckery! Thank the heavens I get sea-sick, cause I don’t think I would want to go on a cruise-liner any time soon! All in all I CAN’T WAIT for the next in the series!

This got a 9/10 from me.
