My Thoughts:

When I bought my first hamster about 3 months ago, I got more than I bargained for, my hamster Blue was pregnant when I got her. So suddenly I had 5 hamster babies, and I had to know much more about hamster care. Luckily I grabbed this book when I first got Blue, to learn a bit more about hamsters.

This book is a very comprehensive guide, about how to prepare for a hamster, what to do in case of illness, preventative care, the different species, how to set up your hamsters cage and what toys and must-haves a hamsters needs. I also learned about hamster handling and grooming and hopefully something I will never have to use: how to recapture an escaped hamster!

This book also contains a handy shopping list that you need before getting your hamster and a pet sitter’s guide that you can fill in! My favorite was the history of where hamsters come from. It was fascinating! Great guide!

Hamster’s aren’t just pets for children. I have absolutely fallen in love with my hamsters. I kept the 3 girls and gave the 2 boys to good homes. So I now have 4 hamsters! Blue, Badger, Buffy and Buttons:

This got a 8/10 from me.
